Mustard Seeds – Four Health Benefits that Will Improve Your Life

Mustard seeds: how can something so ordinary be revered as a potent medicine?

Mustard has gained quite a negative reputation because the commercial mustard paste that you see in jars contains sugar. So that’s why you hear most doctors telling you to avoid it.

And they’re right. The mustard that you see in supermarkets is fattening. However… the mustard seeds that you can buy in any Walmart store aren’t. In fact… they can help you lose weight.

Nutrition researchers have shown that if you add a little mustard to any meal, then – within a few hours’ timeframe – your body will increase its fat burning process by 25%. And if you include it in daily meals, it can help stimulate your metabolism on the long-term.

But it’s not just that. By including mustard seeds to your diet, you also get to benefit from much more.

In fact, mustard seeds can help ward off disease and decay. Whilst fortifying your overall health. Here’s how.

Providing A Shield Against Cancer Development

Did you know that by adding a few mustard seeds to your sandwich or salads, your health becomes almost full proofed against cancer?

Landmark studies revealed that the isothiocyanates (phytochemicals produced from the consumption of cruciferous vegetables (greens, cabbage, cauliflower) in mustard seeds can stop the mitosis (the process of cell division and replication) and stimulate the apoptosis (the process of cell die-off) in cancer cells

Studies have also showed that the consumption of the mustard seed powder inhibited bladder cancer growth by a whopping 34.5%. And completely choked muscle invasion by a remarkable 100%.

It’s Also Great For Pneumonia

If you’re suffering from one of the following:

  • bronchitis
  • asthma
  • pneumonia

… then you should buy some black mustard seeds (you can find it any Walmart).

Grind them and you’ll obtain the flour of mustard seeds. Then make a mustard plaster (also known as a mustard cataplasm) and apply it on your chest. Keep it there for as long as you can (when the burning sensation increases, remove the cataplasm off your chest). And then cover the area with a warm blanket.

How to make the mustard plaster or cataplasm:

Take 3-4 tablespoons of mustard flour and mix it up with water until they gain the consistency of a paste. Then put it in a cloth bag and apply it to the affected area, until the skin turns red and you begin feeling a mild burning sensation.

While the mustard cataplasm is great for adults, it’s not recommended to children under 6 years old.

Boil 100-200 grams of black mustard seeds in one gallon of water. Let the seeds sit like this for ten minutes and then filter the water from the seeds. Bathe in that water for 10 minutes, every other day.

This is also a great treatment for chronic asthma.

Lowers Your Cholesterol

Swallow a teaspoon of mustard seeds, three times a day, half an hour before eating the main meals. After 3 weeks, your cholesterol will reach normal levels, and after 4 months, the level of your blood lipids will also get back to normal.

This is huge, considering that the higher the amount of lipids (or fats) in your bloodstream, the more high (and alarming) your chances of suffering a heart attack.
