Homemade Cleaning Products That Save Your Life

We all want to live in a clean and germ-free environment, right? Unfortunately, many household cleaning products give you the illusion that they will clean AND disinfect your house.

Remember the famous phrase “Kills 99.9% of Germs”? I’m not sure about this. But what I do know is that it can wreak havoc on your entire health.

This type of statement is a simple marketing strategy used to trick you into buying popular disinfectants sold in the United States.

But they are only effective on a small number of pathogens and highly toxic for you.

For example, mixing bleach or any bleach-containing product with any cleaner containing ammonia creates a gas that leads to chronic breathing problems and even death.

This is what I discovered after stumbling upon the American Lung Association website.

That’s why I began collecting safe, effective, homemade alternative formulas for cleaning products that will change your life.

I will also disclose to you my personal Ultimate Household Cleaner.

This formula helps you clean:

  • Floors – laminate, tile, linoleum
  • Glass – windows, mirrors, tables, etc.
  • Cabinets and countertops (vinegar is too acidic for granite, so use this homemade granite cleaner instead)
  • Stainless steel – appliances, faucets, sinks, etc.
  • Walls, baseboards, window sills
  • Porcelain and acrylic – toilets and sinks

If you’re wondering where do I know all these recipes from, well…I had a poor upbringing, but that didn’t mean that my mother would have us living in a dirty environment.

So she began searching for creative (and although I didn’t know it at the time – highly health beneficial) ways to keep our home clean.

I’m going to let you in on a personal secret.

To this day, I still clean my house with this homemade solution.

It’s not only highly effective but… using it also helps me stay connected with my mother who passed away more than 20 years ago.

But I don’t want to make you sad, so let me tell you all about the ultimate cleaning formula that allows you to…

COMPLETELY ELIMINATE the health risks of exposing yourself and your family to different household chemicals.

And SAVE money.

And I bet you already have these ingredients in your pantry!

The following easy DIYs are formulas perfected by me over time. The recipe for the Ultimate Household Cleaner will be revealed to you a little later.

Easy DIYs

So let’s start!

Homemade Hand Sanitizer

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp. Aloe Vera gel (antiseptic)
  • 1 Tbsp. filtered water
  • 1/8 tsp. Vitamin E oil (moisturizing)
  • 5 drops Thieves Oil (antibacterial)

You will need a small 2 oz. squeeze bottle – perfect for keeping in your purse, diaper bag, jacket pocket, etc.

Directions: Combine the Aloe Vera gel, vitamin E oil, and the Thieves oil with a bit of water to thin the mixture a bit. You want it to be thin enough so that it can coat your hand.

Easy Homemade Foaming Hand Soap

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup filtered water
  • 1/8 tsp. essential oil
  • 1/3 cup liquid unscented Castile soap

Directions: Pour the Castile soap and the essential oil into the jar and stir to combine. Fill the jar the rest of the way up with water. Screw on the lid and pump away!

Non-Toxic Air Freshener

You need:

  • Baking soda
  • Essential oil of your choice
  • A mason jar with holes in the lid

Fill your jar about ¼ of the way with baking soda and mix in 5-10 drops of essential oil, depending on how strong you’d like the scent to be. Simply shake the jar from left to right a few times when you want a fresher smell.

You can make a different air freshener for each room. Thieves, or peppermint in the bathroom and I like having a lemon-scented air freshener in the kitchen.

Clean the Microwave in One Easy Step!

You need:

  • A small cup
  • Vinegar
  • Lemon juice

*exact amounts don’t matter

Now, all you have to do is pour some vinegar into the cup and mix in a little lemon juice. Put the cup in the microwave and turn it on for 2 minutes.

Leave the door closed for several more minutes. Finally, open the door and simply wipe down all the sides with a warm cloth or sponge—no scrubbing required!

Homemade Dish Soap

You need:

  • 1 cup of liquid castile soap
  • 3 tablespoons of water
  • a few drops of essential oil (optional)
  • a bottle of your choice

Combine the ingredients above, shake well, and it’s done.

Now, let’s get to the Ultimate Household Cleaner. Are you ready to make your house clean and safe?

You will need:

  • 1 cup water (distilled water is best)
  • 3/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
  • 2-3 drops dish soap
  • 5-10 drops each of lavender, orange, tea tree, and peppermint essential oils
  • Fine-mist spray bottle (at least 20 oz. capacity)

All you need to do now is to add all the ingredients in the spray bottle and shake to combine. Now all that’s left to do is use a microfiber cloth to clean any surface of your house.

Use these formulas as soon as possible!

You will not only make your house squeaky clean, but you will also destroy all the health risks hiding in your home.

You will destroy all germs and parasites hiding in your home, in plain sight.

To your health!
